Dr Gina Messiha
ACAM, MBBS, RACGP, Galderma Trainer, Member of the Cosmetic Physician College of Australasia (CPCA), Certificate in Dermatology and Skin Cancer Medicine. Alongside general practice, Dr Messiha’s passion lies in cosmetic aesthetics, not just in injectables, but also assisting with skin conditions like active acne, rosacea, sun damage, surgical scarring & hormonal pigmentation.
Dr Gina Messiha is the Co-principal and director of Ocean Village Medical Centre and Ocean Cosmetics.
She Graduated from SCU in Egypt in 1991. She was trained in obstetric and gynaecology for 6 years prior to starting her career in general practice.
Dr Messiha is a fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She is also a member of The Cosmetic Physicians College of Australasia .
Dr Messiha has been a medical educator and an examiner in the The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has taken a new role as an advanced trainer in Aesthetics with Galderma.
She has special interest in women and children’s health and mental health. She also has great experience in difficult skin conditions like acne, acne scarring , hormonal pigmentation and aging.
She believes that teaching and continuing education are essential for achieving and maintaining excellent skills and knowledge.
She has a love of travelling for international conferences and cooking.
Dr Jessica Wang
Graduated from the University of New South Wales 1995 and is a fellow of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners since early 2001. Dr Wang is a member of Cosmetic Physician College of Australasia (CPCA) and is an examiner for RACGP. She completed primary modules of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine Study in 2016 and is a member of ACNEM.
Dr Wang has hospital experience of adult and paediatric medicine, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, opthalmology, ENT and dermatology. Her interests are asthma, paediatrics, adolescent, women’s health, sub-fertility and treat all aspects of general medicine. She also has special interests in non-surgical cosmetic dermatology and manages all aspects of skin conditions including acne, acne scarring, pigmentation, rosacea with special focus in laser. In the last few years, she has developed special skills in nutritional medicine and nutritional injectables for chronic medical conditions and general well-being.
She currently works at Ocean Village Medical Centre / Ocean Cosmetics skin laser clinic. She also works small sessions a week at Dermatology Specialist Group with Dr Jonathan Chan, Dr Chris Quirke, Dr Claire Tait and Dr Hock Chua since 2011. Since 2005, she has worked at GP After Hours at SJOG Hospital Subiaco and keeps up with semi-emergency management.
She can speak Mandarin and Hokkien.
Dr Louise Owen
Dr Owen graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2003. Her hospital experience includes Emergency and General Medicine, Geriatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Infectious Diseases (including Sexual Health), Paediatrics, Psychiatry, General Surgery and Coronary Care.
She subsequently studied for a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and since 2007 has worked in General Practice.
She became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and won the prize for the top candidate in WA in early 2010.
She is interested in all aspects of general practice including womens’s health, fertility, family planning, men’s health, psychology, paediatrics, geriatrics, nutritional medicine, skin checks and excision of lesions, joint injections, surgical treatment of ingrown toenails, insertion and removal of IUCDs.
In her spare time she enjoys exercising and spending time with her young family.
Dr Boey Leng Loy
Dr Loy graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2004 and became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2009, obtaining the top mark in the General Practice clinical examination.
She has also completed a Diploma of Child Health, Certificate in Travel Health and a Certificate Course in Sexual and Reproductive Health. She is a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine, the Australian Medical Association and is on the examination panel for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Loy has worked at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital and the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. She has hospital experience in emergency medicine, various medical specialties including cardiology, respiratory, renal and geriatrics, psychiatry as well as orthopaedics and general surgery.
She enjoys all aspects of general practice, including inserting Implanons, removal of IUCD’s, doing skin checks and excision of skin lesions. She has a special interest in Travel Medicine and also works at the Travel Health Clinic in Fremantle.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling, keeping fit by running and doing pilates, as well as learning the Argentine Tango and French.
Dr Jack Chang
Dr Chang graduated from Monash University in Melbourne in 1997. He has been living and working in Perth since 2002. He worked in a variety of hospital posts before settling in general practice and has been a GP since 2006. He has a young family and is a keen cyclist, he is experienced in all area of general practice and has a keen interest in weight management and men’s health. He speaks fluent Mandarin and welcomes Chinese patients.
Dr Katrina Morkell
Dr Morkell graduated from the University of Western Australia with Honours in 1999 and in 2004 she became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Her hospital experience includes Cardiology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Geriatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ENT [ear, nose & throat], Palliative Care,Paediatrics, Psychiatry & Radiation Oncology. She has worked in General Practice since 2002.
Dr Morkell enjoys all aspects of general practice with special interests in paediatrics, adolescent and women’s health. In 2017 Dr Morkell also completed her Diploma of Child Health through the Sydney Children’s Hospital network/University of Sydney. She is qualified to insert and remove Implanon.
In her spare time she enjoys running and spending time with her family.
Dr Vanessa Hyde-Smith
Dr Vanessa graduated UCT in 1997, worked in Emergency and Internal Medicine in Cape Town and Ireland, then 4 years Psychiatry / Mental Health RSA and Cairns/ Toowoomba. GP and Emergency Medicine in Knysna South Africa.
Dr Vanessa moved to Australia in 2012 and was a GP in Rockingham for 4.5 years, then in Craigie. She completed FRACGP in 2014 winning award for top candidate WA. She is a RACGP examiner and trains medical students. She is married with 2 great kids, enjoys time with friends, tennis, yoga, pilates and walks along the river.
Dr Vanessa has extra training in Integrative Medicine and her goal for patients is optimising well-being for the person, anchored by medical excellence

Rob has over 30 years’ experience as a clinician, having worked in private practice, government organisations, and disability support organisations.
Rob qualified as a clinical psychologist in South Africa, and holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. He is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and is registered as a general psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Rob believes that the most effective treatment takes place in an environment which combines both a supportive and understanding relationship between the practitioner and client, as well as a clear understanding of the outcomes the client wishes to achieve.
Rob’s style of interaction with clients is warm and collaborative, following a client-centered approach. Together with the client he will tailor individual solutions utilising best practice treatment strategies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy.
As well as dealing with the specific issues they bring into therapy, clients also increase their belief that they can make choices which affect the course of their lives in a positive way. Rob gently challenges clients to make those choices.
Dr Peter Buffham
Dr Peter Buffham is an experienced local family GP, born in Subiaco, who graduated from UWA in 1991 and has worked locally for over 20 years.
He received a Gold Medical in his GP Exams in 1998 and the prize for his Diploma in Child Health in 1997.
Dr Buffham attended both local primary and high schools and still lives in the area with his amazing wife and three awesome kids.
He loves family, sport, food, snowboarding, hill climbing, live music, travel and the great outdoors.
Dr Buffham has a keen interest in all aspects of medicine over all ages including preventative health, especially in middle-aged males, mental health, travel medicine, paediatrics and he is accredited as a youth-friendly Doctor, re-doing his training modules in 2017/2018 as he was in the initial cohort of doctors to train in this field.
He is also able to perform Recreational Scuba Diving medicals and is involved in teaching medical students as a clinical lecturer at UWA.
