Dr. Jack Chang
Dr Chang was born in northern provinces of China and came to Australia at the age of 15. He attended high school in Launceston, Tasmania and went to university in Melbourne. He graduated from Monash University in 1997. He worked in Victoria and Western Australia for 2 years before heading to the UK for 18 months working holiday. After returning to Perth, he worked in hospital posts covering cardiology, geriatrics and later worked in occupation health for 1 year before starting general practice training. He completed his fellowship in 2006. He has been working in general practice as well as working as a visiting GP to residential care facilities in suburbs around Wembley Downs and Claremont.
Over the past two years, he has embarked on a quest to gain knowledge in integrative wholistic medicine based on optimal nutrition, sleep, stress management and physical activities, breath work, meditation techniques. He is a member of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environment Medicine.
His area of interest including gut health, IBS, SIBO; thyroid and adrenal conditions, including adrenal fatigue. He has recently completed a certificate programme to become a Metabolic Balance® nutritional coach. Metabolic Balance® is a highly successful programme aim to optimise hormone balance in patients to achieve great results in weight optimisation, reversing metabolic syndrome and diabetes, improving menopause symptoms, migraine and autoimmune disease. His other area of interest is musculoskeletal injuries relating endurance sports such as cycling and running.
He enjoys cycling, yoga, reading Eastern spiritual books and playing the cello outside of his work commitments. He embraces conscious and sustainable living, building a connected community through volunteering at his children’s school, involving in the area of Fathering Project and music parent’s group.
