Dr. Jack Chang

Dr. Chang’s journey in the medical field has been shaped by diverse experiences and a commitment to providing comprehensive care. Born in the northern provinces of China, he moved to Australia at the age of 15. Dr. Chang completed his high school education in Launceston, Tasmania, and pursued his university studies in Melbourne, graduating from Monash University in 1997.
After completing his studies, Dr. Chang embarked on a professional journey that took him across various locations. He worked in Victoria and Western Australia for two years before embarking on an 18-month working holiday in the UK. Upon his return to Perth, he gained further experience in hospital settings, specializing in cardiology and geriatrics. Additionally, he dedicated one year to occupational health before commencing his training in general practice.
Dr. Chang successfully completed his fellowship in 2006, marking a significant milestone in his career. Since then, Dr. Chang has been actively involved in general practice, providing comprehensive medical care to his patients. He has also served as a visiting GP to residential care facilities in suburbs around Wembley Downs and Claremont, extending his expertise to the elderly population in need of specialized care.
Dr. Chang’s diverse background, combined with his extensive experience in hospital and general practice settings, equips him with a broad skill set to address the varying needs of his patients. His commitment to delivering quality healthcare is evident in his dedication to both general practice and providing specialized care to the elderly in residential care facilities
In the last few years, his main focus has been on acquiring knowledge in integrative holistic medicine, with an emphasis on optimal nutrition, sleep, stress management, physical activities, breath work, and meditation techniques. He is an active member of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. His specific areas of interest revolve around gut health, including conditions like IBS and SIBO, as well as thyroid and adrenal disorders, including adrenal fatigue. Recently, he completed a certificate program to become a certified Metabolic Balance® nutritional coach. Metabolic Balance® is a highly effective program designed to optimize hormone balance in patients, leading to significant improvements in weight management, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, menopausal symptoms, migraines, and autoimmune diseases.
Additionally, Dr. Chang is also keenly interested in musculoskeletal injuries commonly associated with endurance sports such as cycling and running.
Outside of his professional commitments, he finds joy in indulging in cycling, practicing yoga, reading books on Eastern spirituality, and playing the cello
