What We Help With

Lifestyle Intervention can help if you feel tired, stressed, low in energy or unsure where to start with healthy changes. We support nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, smoking and alcohol in a non judgemental way, so you can create a plan that fits your body, culture, family and work, rather than trying to follow a strict or perfect routine.

Common Concerns We Support

Many people know lifestyle changes might help but feel unsure which step matters most. Your GP will help you choose one or two simple, realistic goals so change feels possible, not overwhelming.

Perimenopause and menopause can affect sleep quality and daytime energy. We explore your sleep routine, daily demands and existing health issues, then plan gentle changes that support both rest and energy.

Busy work, caring roles and life changes can leave little space for yourself. We help you find small moments for movement, rest and nourishment, and may suggest supports such as counselling or workplace adjustments where appropriate.

Lifestyle Intervention can support conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Your GP reviews your current plan, explains how food, movement and sleep link to your condition and works with you to add changes that feel achievable.

FAQ's

Lifestyle Intervention is a structured approach to changing habits around food, movement, sleep and stress with support from your GP. It is for women especially in perimenopause and menopause, who want practical help to feel better and protect long term health.

During perimenopause and menopause, Lifestyle Intervention can support hot flushes, weight, mood, energy, sleep and heart and bone health. Your GP explains how hormones, age and lifestyle interact and helps you choose changes that fit your life. Even small shifts can make a meaningful difference over time.

In a Lifestyle Intervention appointment, your GP asks about your daily routine, food, movement, sleep, stress, work and caring roles. They may review your medical history and test results. Together you set one or two goals, talk about barriers and decide on a clear plan and follow up date.

You do not need to be fit, sporty or already active. Lifestyle Intervention meets you where you are. Your GP will ask what you enjoy, what your body can manage and what feels safe, then suggest gentle changes such as short walks, stretching or everyday movement.

Yes. Lifestyle Intervention often focuses on sleep routines and stress. Your GP may suggest changes to screen use, caffeine, bedtime routines and daily movement, as well as ways to manage stress. If needed, they can discuss counselling or other supports to help you cope.

Lifestyle Intervention does not rely on strict diets or intense exercise programs. Instead, your GP looks at what you already eat and how you move, then suggests small tweaks. Plans are flexible and can be adapted to your culture, family, budget and preferences.

Lifestyle Intervention can be a helpful part of managing diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and other chronic conditions. Your GP may review your results, medicines and current plan, then suggest lifestyle changes that support these conditions alongside your usual medical care.

Every person is different. Some people notice changes in energy, sleep or mood within weeks of starting Lifestyle Intervention. Others see gradual improvement in weight, fitness or test results over months. Your GP will set realistic expectations and review progress with you.

  1. Follow up depends on your goals and health needs. Many people like to check in every four to eight weeks at first to keep on track, then space visits out once habits feel more settled. You and your GP can agree on a schedule and adjust it over time.

Lifestyle Intervention is billed as a GP consultation, often a long appointment so there is time to talk and plan. Medicare rebates are available for eligible patients, with out of pocket costs based on our clinic fees and appointment length. For current fee details, please check our Fees page or contact reception.

We are committed to providing gentle, respectful menopause care that supports your needs, values and privacy at every visit.
